In addition to sparking controversy with his tweets about Donald Trump and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Redskins defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio liked a derogatory tweet about NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace on Tuesday.
The tweet, from conservative commentator Candace Owens, referred to Wallace as Bubba Smollet, a reference to the actor Jussie Smollet who was accused of lying about a hate crime.
The tweet was liked after the FBI announced that an investigation found that the discovery of a noose in Wallace's garage was not a hoax and that there would be no hate crime charges filed.
A crew member for Richard Petty Motorsports discovered the noose Sunday at the Alabama race track, according to the Associated Press. NASCAR was alerted and called the FBI.

Del Rio also liked a tweet from conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, calling for protesters who topple federal monuments to be arrested. Those comments echo ones made by President Trump on Twitter after protesters in Washington tried to topple a statue of Andrew Jackson.
Del Rio's tweets and likes come at a time when many of his team's players, including quarterback Dwayne Haskins, are participating in what has become a worldwide movement against police brutality and racial injustice following the death of George Floyd at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer.
The Redskins declined to comment on Del Rio's tweets.
