Update: Kayla Harper posted in her Instagram stories that it's not an April Fools' joke. "I would never joke about something like this especially knowing how blessed we are to be able to get pregnant," she wrote. "I would never be insensitive to those who may be struggling to get pregnant."
Bryce Harper is getting more than just a new team this year. He and his wife, Kayla, are welcoming a new family member into the world.
(Well, maybe but maybe not because it's April Fools' Day, so the Harpers picked the absolute worst day to make a major life announcement.)
In an Instagram post on Monday, the Philadelphia Phillies star announced that he and Kayla are expecting their first child, and based off Harper's caption, it looks like they're having a boy -- again, assuming this is all true and not some way-too-elaborate prank.

That seems like a lot of effort for an April Fools' Day joke, from faking a sonogram to having not one but two personalized toddler jackets. Plus the photoshoot for all this.
Kayla also posted the same first photo as her husband, but her second photo was a close up of the jacket they're holding in the photo together under the bridge.
She wrote in her caption, referencing their dog:
Wrigley’s gonna be pissed... Baby Harper making HIS debut Aug. 2019 #littleman
However, if this is all a joke, the Phillies are either in on it or were fooled too because they reshared the image from their Instagram account and congratulated the couple.
