Two days after being hit in the face by a Vince Velasquez fastball, Nationals right-hander Austin Voth posted a photo on Instagram thanking the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital medical staff for completing surgery to reset his nose.

The 28-year-old pitcher walked off the field under his own power with a bloodied towel pressed against his nose.
Nationals manager Davey Martinez declined to give a timetable for Voth’s return in his postgame press conference Sunday, saying he wanted to give Voth a few days before determining next steps. Voth has been a steady presence out of the bullpen this season after losing out on the fifth-starter job in spring training. He owns a 2.73 ERA in 19 appearances with 29 strikeouts to 10 walks.
