Bradley Beal sets franchise record with another big game

Even during a five-game losing streak to begin their 2020-21 season, the Wizards have had a few players impress with individual success. Russell Westbrook has made noise with four straight triple-doubles to begin his season, becoming the second player in NBA history to do so. And now, Bradley Beal has joined him with his own historic start.

Beal scored at least 25 points against the Timberwolves Friday night - he was at 31 points at the end of the third quarter - marking his sixth straight game to start the year with at least that many. It's a streak no one else in Wizards history has ever had to begin a season.

Some experts speculated that playing alongside Westbrook could be highly beneficial for Beal's stats, especially his scoring chances, and that's been true through a half-dozen games. Beal scored 31, 39, 29, 29 and 28 points in the season's first five games, breaking 30 points once again in game six.

He looks poised to compete for the NBA's scoring title this season. Even if he falls short of that high-water mark, Beal is still poised to break a few more franchise scoring records along the way this season.
