The Wizards lost to the Pacers 74-66 on Monday afternoon in their final game of the Las Vegas Summer League. Here are a few observations from the day’s game:
Summer League concludes
The Wizards capped their four-game showing in Las Vegas with a loss to the Pacers, which dropped their record to 1-3 over the last week.
Monday wasn’t a sharp showing from the Wizards, who shot just 33.3 percent on 25-of-73 shooting from the field. They began the game 0-of-11 from 3-point range.
Their Summer League showcase got off to a rocky start, as multiple players were put on the Reserve/COVID-19 list to start, which postponed their game against the Pacers from last weekend to Monday. They still were able to get four games in, and both of their acquisitions from the draft (Corey Kispert and Isaiah Todd) were able to see the floor in multiple games.
So while the 1-3 record is totally irrelevant, it was important for the Wizards that they got two young players out onto the floor.

The Wizards’ first round pick followed up his best performance of the Summer with one where he struggled to find his shooting touch.
He scored just three points on 1-of-7 shooting, including an 0-for-4 from 3-point range. But, throughout the entirety of Summer League, there've been a handful of promising moments for the 15th overall pick. He showed a nice feel for the game and drove to the lane for a handful of buckets over the last week and certainly showcased his quick release on 3-point shots.
He also played well on defense in certain situations and was certainly not afraid to get on the floor for a loose ball. As for his role in Washington this year, that remains to be seen, but the Wizards will no doubt be excited to get their first round pick on the floor with the NBA team.
Todd shoots freely
Isaiah Todd missed the first Wizards’ game this summer, but showed flashes of why the Wizards were happy to have him at 31st overall on Monday. He finished with 11 points on 4-of-16 shooting in addition to six rebounds.
Moving forward, the Wizards certainly won't have to worry about Todd getting shots up, as he showed little hesitancy to shoot when the opportunity was presented.
But, more importantly, he showed flashes of his talent at just 19 years old. The G-League product is certainly not afraid to shoot the ball, and he'll look to continue his development in the Wizards’ organization this fall.
What If?
The Wizards got a look, sort of, at an alternative universe on Monday when they played Chris Duarte and Isaiah Jackson
Duarte was the 13th overall pick (two picks before Kispert) but didn't enter the game Monday. He had a strong showing in the Pacers' first four games of Summer League play.
Jackson was the 22nd overall pick, which the Wizards traded to the Pacers for guard Aaron Holiday and the rights to the 31st overall pick, which became Todd. Jackson finished with 11 points and seven rebounds in 21 minutes on the floor.
The Wizards hardly knew ye.
